Happy Easter :)
Well, we had another great Easter. My mom mentioned yesterday that Easter has officially become my holiday! Yippeeee. I have my own holiday for everyone to come over and I love every minute. If the cleaning fairies would just come and do the cleaning. I love the cooking part! It was a gorgeous day and it started off by getting the kids up about 7 am to catch the 8am mass. Jackson looked around in his bed and said "Mom, why are you getting us up while it is still night time?"
We went to the service and came home. Eric played Memory with the kids upstairs and then they came down to find their Easter baskets outside, then hunted eggs, and happened upon 2 new bikes in the garage. They were sooooo excited.
Then Mom, Dad, Uncle Craig, and Aunt Nic came over about noon and we had a huge lunch with ham, pasta salad, oreo balls, corn casserole, party potatoes, lemon cream salad, Cara's Poppyseed salad, deviled eggs, cheeseball, and birthday cake for dessert. It was yummy and so filling. Then the kids opened their baskets from Gig, Mom and Dad, and Uncle Craig and Aunt Nic. They had a ball playing with their new toys and then we flew kites and had a great time. Kite flying has become our Easter tradition. J got his kite stuck in the apple tree at the very top and was devastated. Soooo....Eric climbed the tree with his saw and cut down the limb that the kite was on and then the kite was freed. Uncle Craig and Aunt Nic hid round 2 of the eggs and the kids hunted them and they even found the 2 golden eggs.
We celebrated Tootie's 3rd birthday this afternoon and opened presents and had her cake. She was so overwhelmed and tired. She looked like a little walking zombie. It was a riot. She was inconsolable about 8 tonight. I had a heckuva time getting them off their bikes and into the house. The passed out between before their heads hit the pillow. What a great day. We had a blast!! It always goes way too fast!
