We had our great friends, The Wittenauer's, over for a BBQ and lots of fireworks, tonight. We had so much fun. Miss Sophi bug walked about a hundred miles around the lawn. The kids all played on the Slip N Slide. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, fried green tomatoes, corn on the cob (Indiana bicolor, YUMMY), pasta salad, banana salad (that I forgot to put the sugar in..BLAH), Staci's strawberry dessert, and I made a cherry pie with fresh sweet cherries from the cherry trees at the local orchard. We were stuffed...So we played Badmitton and had so much fun laughing that we thought we were going to burst. THe kids sat on the sidelines and were our cheerleaders then they got busy catching lightning bugs...also known as fireflies. Then we watched as Mark and Eric shot off the fireworks. I think the kids's favorites were the parachute men, multi colored sparklers, and these little tanks they lit on the sidewalk that shot these little sparks. No incidents. I'm glad Soph was in bed. The mosquitoes were terrible. We had citronella candles, 3 layers of 2 kinds of bug spray and we still got eaten up!
Tootie was not thrilled that Eric taped her baby to a bottle rocket to launch it into space! Buddy just didn't like the fireworks period. We had to lock him into the garage since he kept running into the house. We had so much fun laughing. It was a great time. Now back to reality and clean up tomorrow!!
