The Garbage Disposal incident

I am so proud of myself. Eric was working very hard on the bathroom remodel this past weekend and when he was done, he got the garage ready for my sale this weekend. In the meantime, my garbage disposal started making a weird sound and then had no power at all. So Eric said "Well, I guess we'll go buy a new one this weekend". I knew he was tired of working on stuff at that point and took it upon myself to fix it while he was at work the next day. So I called my trusty, handyman guy, Dad and he walked me through taking it apart. I did it and found that the culprit was a pesky bone of some sort. I fixed it and put it back. Whew!!! What a surprised but grateful husband I had.

What's with the weather

This weather is CRAZY. No wonder everyone is sick. You would think with all the germs I am exposed to that I would be healthy. Last week, Jackson had a fever for 2 days and complained of a "sore mouth" which I assume he means a sore throat. Caroline has another double ear infection and has to get tubes next month. I was supposed to work last Sat. and Eric and I went out for dinner and as we came out of the restaurant I got a cold chill and spiked a temp of 102. I missed work on Sat. and forced myself to go on Sun. since I didn't have a fever. Of course, I get a fresh open heart kid to take care of. Everyone is fine, now. No funny kid stories lately.

Bathroom Remodel

Well, the kids got their immunizations, yesterday, so of course, both of them are sick with fevers today and home from school.

Caroline's 1st Birthday

I can't believe she's 1!!! Where does the time go? What a great birthday. We had the party at Mom and Dad's. I made a "Hello Kitty" strawberry cake and she was surrounded by a sea of presents. She received 22! new outfits for this spring and summer. She got a new Barbie hot wheels to race with her big brother. As a matter of fact, she was out riding on Jackson's hot wheels before the party. We had a beautiful weekend. Jackson rode his bicycle while Mom and I took walks; he was, however, afraid that a " Horn Cow", otherwise known as a bull, might get loose and chase him down the rode. I'll post some pics of the party soon.

April Fools

I have gotten behind on my blogging. Not much has changed since Easter. The kids are great. We have been out walking everyday. Last Thursday, Jackson rode 4 miles on his bike!!! I took him and Caroline on a walk. He rode while I pushed her in the stroller and later that night I went for another walk and he came with me and rode his bike. Yesterday we went for a walk and one of the neighbor's down the hill has a huge incline and for some reason he decided to ride in the driveway and ended up sailing down the hill. He did fine; he didn't scream or yell. I just kept telling him to put on the break. He came about 10 feet from the lake and bailed off. He was so funny. He just got up and said "What happened, Mom?" It scared me at first but now I just picture him bailing off his bike. So anyway, I don't get a lot done with my 4 handicaps. Our dog, Buddy, the neighbor's dog who I have named, Pepper, J, and Caroline. It is quite a show. Kids are great, and I love the awesome weather.

I'm taking my first course to become a Legal Nurse Consultant for law firms with my good friend Susan. 10 years of Peds ICU bedside nursing is plenty.
